COVID-19 Lexicon

It has been nine months and fifteen-days since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Globally, as of December 25, 2020, there have been 79,094,961 confirmed cases, 683,696 daily increase of covid-19 cases, a 0.87% daily change of cases, followed by 1,739,446 COVID-19 deaths, 12,069 daily increase in deaths, and a 0.7% daily change in deaths. Whether you have little or no exposure within the healthcare field, many people had to rapidly learn essential terms of virology and epidemiology. Numerous new terms have entered our vocabulary, and some are very complex. I’ve compiled a glossary of words that are now part of our everyday COVID-19 lexicon.
