The Number of Expected COVID-19 Vaccine Doses for the U.S.

On December 11, 2020, The United States Food and Drug Administration issued the first emergency use authorization (EUA) for a vaccine for the prevention of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the respiratory illness responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. The vaccine is currently authorized for individuals 16 years of age and older. The emergency use authorization allows the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine to be distributed in the U.S.


The following map and data table display the initial allocation of Pfizer-BioNTech doses, doses confirmed received, and the number of doses expected in the second shipment of COVID-19 vaccines.
